So I met her in the winter of 2009. When we met, it was instantaneous. From the second we locked eyes, I knew it was meant to be. It was like I had found what I was looking for without even realizing I was missing anything at all.
Our relationship is a bit of a whirlwind romance. Our first kiss was the day we met. I met her family the day we met, and she met mine that same day. And honestly, it didn't take me long to tell her I loved her. I strongly believe that when you know, you know.
I know this all sounds absolutely crazy, but if you were to ever see her, you would understand. Then, once you meet her, her personality just forces you to fall in love.
We just belong together. I don't know how else to put it. Except we've been in a long distance relationship since I moved to college. I only get to see her on holidays and a bit during in the summer between camp and school. I will never forget the day she didn't recognize me. I now know what true heart break feels like. I hadn't been home in about 6 months, and when it finally came time to reunite, she didn't know who I was and actually avoided me! But, we are much better now, that was quite a few years ago. But we are very happy.
If you've read this far, I just want to thank you for being so open minded about my relationship with the love of my life. And I think its time to post a picture. This is Gertie and I a few years back <3
Now do you see how we fell in love so quickly? Like seriously, just look at her? I literally have the most photogenic dog in the world.
She is more than I could have ever asked for in a companion. She has always been there for me (except for that one time she didn't recognize me). She has never judged me for drinking an entire bottle of wine while watching an entire season of The Office on Netflix in one night. She is totally fine with staying in bed all day and cuddling.
So happy Valentine's day from me and mine to you and yours!
She's adorable! Happy V-Day!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Happy v-day to you as well!!
